The spider-bot arcade game is a game of skill. It is important to keep focused on the spider target. A key is to keep the laser gun strategically pointed where my target goes, and then shoot multiple times. This scenario can be applied to business: focus on your target, follow a strategic plan, act upon it, and repeat.
You will miss 100% of the shots that you never take.
Keep focused with your eye on the target. What is your target? Keep in the “green” each month, and increase levels methodically. How do you do that? Meet new contacts. Reach out where your demographic groups are located. Where is a good place to start? Professional networking meetings
LinkedIn Groups Networking
In addition to networking with individuals in person, LinkedIn is a tool to connect with leads as well. I refer to LinkedIn connections as the “meeting before the handshake.” It is like preparing for an interview. A human resources recruiter requests to review your resume in advance to inviting you to a meeting. Similarly, you can troll for leads through LinkedIn, review their profile in advance to meeting them in person.
The more I talk with small business owners, I realize that LinkedIn is an underused feature of this system. There is no way in the world that you can attend all the networking groups in your area—in person. Consider sharing some of your knowledge or topical interest in these virtual LinkedIn groups. It is a good way to get your business name “out there.”
Network…because you can,
